How thick do we pour the concrete?
We generaly pour six (6) inch thick for driveways and four (4) inches for patios, sidewalks and swimming pool areas.
What is the strength of the concrete we use?
We use 32 MPa (4,600psi.) mixed concrete reinforced with steel rebar or mesh, depending on the application.
Will the color or colors fade with time?
No, at Concrete JM Inc., we use top quality color hardeners that are applied to the surface of the freshly poured concrete.
This increases the surface strength of the concrete which insures that the integrety of the colors will last a lifetime.
In the winter, does the sealer makes it slippery?
Years ago stamped concrete was well knowed to be slippery when wet in the winter because of it 's smooth surface, but those are things of the past. We now use top quality sealers which are non-slip based additive to reduce, if not totally illiminate the slippery factors out of the equation.
With those vary nasty winters here , can i apply salt?
We highly discourage the use of salt as an ice melter on any concrete surfaces.
However, there are many calsium-based de-icers available on the market today
that claime to be safer to use on concrete.
Still we
recommend simply applying sand to reduce slipperiness.
We also recommend the use of plastic snow shovels rather than metal, as steel shovels may or will damaged the sealer from the surface of the concrete.
Does it require any maintenance?
No not at all. But periodically, everything needs maintenance especially items exposed to our very harsh north american climate.
This is why we recommend resealing about every two (2) years to maintane that fresh new look.
That's all. Just call us when
you require sealer, or better yet, relax and have us seal it for you at a minimal cost.
